Simone is a fellow photographer and quite a talented model as well! We headed out to the Oregon Coast last month on a beautifully sunny day to capture these shots.
Rome was mesmorizing. The people, and the culture, and the beautiful architecture everywhere you look. When we asked if people spoke English, almost everyone replied “a little bit,” and then they went on to speak it far better than I have ever spoken French, which I studied for four years. There were plenty of dapper, very well dressed young Italian businessmen buzzing around on scooters through the city. The first night there was a crazy lightning storm… I opened my window and watched the curtains sway to the thunder. Street musicians serenaded us for nearly every meal, and the food is as good as they say it is. I had the best bruschetta I’ve ever had in my life, and yes – it is pronounced brus-ke-tta. I always just thought people were being pretentious when I heard it pronounced that way before. Seeing the Pantheon in person, and getting to go inside of it was totally surreal. The Roman Colosseum was the most spectacular thing I saw. The size of it can only be understood when actually being in the presence of it. It towered over the city. Rome is unlike any place I have ever been. A modern city built on top of an ancient one.. seriously awesome. If you get the chance I would strongly encourage you to go there!
Last September I traveled to Spain to visit a dear friend. I stayed just outside of Sitges, a beach town near Barcelona. I had an amazing time. It was a beautiful and poetic experience.
Spain: Outdoor showers on the roof, fourteen mosquito bites, one tattoo, swimming in the Mediterranean Sea, accordion music, whistles from the construction workers, olives, olives, olives, the mountain bar, pink sunrises, a centipede in the sink, cobblestone roads, bright green shutters…
This is where I stayed.

Authentic Spanish Paella.

Hand – built wall in the middle of nowhere..

I love this. I don’t know why but I love it.

The image on the left is an old bath, that has been around since B.C. Amazing.

Spanish pigeon.

Tiny beers.

I loved this guy.

Gaudi.

Best parallel parking job ever!
Last night in Spain..

Amanda and Cody were a blast to photograph! They are so hip and stylish, I wish we would of gotten through more outfits! We started at the Mississppi food carts, wehre we got some tacos. Then we headed out to the farm, which is surprisingly pretty this time of year, and ended over at the North Portland Bluffs, overlooking the industrial train yard at sunset. It was a lovely shoot. Thanks to Skot Coatsworth for the excellent photo assistance.
Every year my best friends and I get together for a friend anniversary, (Franiversary) in which we dance and make art and eat good food and just have a grand old time! This was year six. We made a tree fort and ate homemade sushi! Little Franny was our special guest, and the first baby to ever come to our gathering. I think she will grow up thinking this celebration is all about her (for an obvious reason.)
